Chart formatting options


In IBM Cognos 10 Report Studio, there are many options available to improve and enhance the chart objects based on the new charting engine.

In this recipe, we will check some of the formatting options available for charts in IBM Cognos Report Studio.

Getting ready

For this recipe, we will use the GO Data Warehouse (query) package.

How to do it...

In this recipe we will create a new chart report and will try to explore some formatting options. To do this, perform the following steps:

  1. Open IBM Cognos Report Studio and select the GO Data Warehouse (query) package.

  2. In the New pop-up screen, select Chart and then click on OK.

  3. Another pop-up screen named Insert Chart appears. Select the Clustered Column with 3-D Effect s chart and then click on OK.

  4. In the Source tab, open the Products dimension in Sales (query). Drag-and-drop Product line to Series (primary axis):.

  5. From Sales fact, drag Revenue to Default measure (y-axis):.

  6. From the Time dimension, drag Year to Categories (x-axis...
