In this chapter, you have learned how to deploy a hybrid Windows/Linux Kubernetes cluster running on Azure using AKS Engine. Currently, this approach is the most suitable solution for running self-managed, production-grade clusters with Windows nodes. The Deployment procedure is simple – first, install all prerequisites and AKS Engine on your local machine, then create a dedicated Azure resource group and Azure Active Directory service principal. After that, you need to define an apimodel (cluster definition) JSON file for AKS Engine to generate an Azure resource manager template and use the template to deploy the cluster.
