Chapter 7. Design Considerations and Guidelines
In this chapter, we will discuss some of the design considerations and best practices for not required here VSAN. We will particularly look at fine tuning configuration parameters that will help yield optimal performance and availability.
Before we get into the details, it is important to remember that there are generally minimum requirements established by vendors for a product to be installed and configured. However, these minimum requirements are defined to ensure that there are sufficient resources to make the product work. In order to extract the best out of a product or solution, there is a strong likelihood that there is significant deviation from the minimum requirements and additional resources to build out an optimal design. This chapter will aim at looking at the nitty-gritty of configuration that is either internal or external to vSphere to aid in building such a design.
