Resizing images
In this recipe, we are going to look at a number of ways to resize your images, both manually using the mouse together with shortcut keys and also numerically using the Properties panel or, if you prefer, the Control panel, where the same resizing options can also be found.
It is important to note that resizing your images on the page will also affect the effective resolution of the image, so if you are not already comfortable with resolution and its impact, I would recommend the Checking the image resolution recipe later in this chapter. In that recipe, we will resize and apply fitting to images, and look more closely at the impact this has on the resolution.
Getting ready
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1. You should be comfortable adding images to your document, as shown in the Placing images into InDesign recipe earlier...
