Information Management and Automation

As we dive deeper into the customization of Civil 3D elements, we transition to the hidden piece that many overlook in infrastructure projects – the information and data component. All the work dimensioning and definitions of materials, amongst other data points we created with our native elements, can be leveraged further into the design portion of the project and even further into the lifecycle of the designed asset itself. This is where we begin to fully understand the power of the “I” in BIM and take the information piece of our work to the next level.

In this section of the book, we focus on surfacing this data and optimizing the collection and analysis of it for smarter project assessments and better application downstream of the design phase of a project.
