Summary

In this chapter, we compared container orchestration and Docker containers. Next, we explored the basic architecture and different components of Kubernetes and considered the different cloud services in Azure – Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Container Apps. Lastly, we prepared a local environment to orchestrate different microservices and a multi-container application.

In the next chapter, we will set up a Kubernetes cluster and deploy it on Azure Kubernetes Service using both the Azure portal and Azure CLI.
