An XML sitemap is a document containing a list of URLs in the site within a predefined set of XML tags. A sitemap plays an important role in promoting your site through search engines. Modern search engines can find our site, go through the URLs, and index them. However, a well-prepared sitemap makes it easier for the search engine bots to identify the URLs and the connections between them, and then index them faster than the normal process. We can manually create an XML file with all the URLs or automate the process with a plugin or service.
In this recipe, we are going to use a free plugin to automatically create a sitemap and update it when necessary.
