Remediating a VM or a VA
Virtual machines can be remediated by using one of the following two predefined baselines:
VMware tools upgrade to match host
VM hardware upgrade to match host
A virtual appliance (VA) can be remediated by either using the predefined baseline VA Upgrade to Latest
or by using a custom baseline.
Note
Remediating a VM or a virtual appliance can't be done from the host and clusters inventory view. Make sure you change to view to VMs and Templates.
How to do it...
The following procedure will help you remediate a VM or a virtual appliance:
At the vCenter Server, change the inventory view to VMs and Templates.
Select the VM to be remediated and navigate to its Update Manger tab.
Click on Attach to bring up the Attach Baseline or Group window.
In the Attach Baseline or Group window, select the VM Upgrade baselines or a baseline group and click on Attach.
Scan the VM for compliance with the baseline.
Click on Remediate if the VM is non-compliant.
