Introduction

vRealize Operations for Horizon, also known as V4V, is a component of the VMware Horizon Enterprise suite of products. V4V simplifies the management of the Horizon View infrastructure by providing centralized, end-to-end visibility into its performance and level of health. V4V is also available as a standalone product.

Note

This chapter assumes that the reader is familiar with the key concepts surrounding compute, network, and storage resources. The reader should also be familiar with the metrics that can be used to measure the current status and performance of resources such as utilization, latency, bandwidth, IOPS, and so on. Information on some of these topics is discussed in the VMware document, vSphere Resource Management (http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-55/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-55-resource-management-guide.pdf).
