Summary
While this chapter was a bit shorter than some of the other ones we’ve looked at in this part of the book, it is one that opens a range of possibilities far bigger than what’s possible in Tinkercad alone. As you create your own unique designs, or as you browse the designs created and shared by other Tinkercad community members, we now know how we can bring designs from one design space to another by simply copying and pasting.
We’ve also learned that models exported from Tinkercad or other CAD programs can be imported as STL or OBJ file types, and there are also ways to convert files into these universal formats using public tools found on the web. While we can’t edit an imported model like we can with a model created within Tinkercad, we can still apply previously learned skills to manipulate and transform imported models to enhance our own unique creations.
