Lab exercise – ReeR MOSAIC M1S safety PLC security assessment
The main aim of this lab exercise is to evaluate the cybersecurity measures implemented in the ReeR MOSAIC M1S safety PLC. This will involve assessing its vulnerability and conducting a mapping against the MITRE ICS framework.
For this lab, you will need the following:
- Hardware: ReeR MOSAIC M1S safety PLC (or other safety PLC): https://www.reersafety.com/en/categories/safety-controllers-and-interfaces/

- Software:
- Download the MOSAIC M1S COM configuration file from here: https://www.reersafety.com/en/software-2/ (Registration required)
- Windows, Mac, or Linux machine
- Wireshark: Network protocol analyzer that captures and displays data traveling back and forth on a network.
- Metasploit or other exploitation framework
