Monitoring services


Once a service has been modeled and created the next key task is monitoring the newly created service entity. As was seen in the context of systems monitoring, OEM Grid Control has extensive capabilities around monitoring services. We will now cover each of these in detail.

All services page

The All Services page acts as the starting page for services targets within OEM Grid Control. This page can be accessed by first clicking on the Targets link in the global tab and then subsequently clicking on the Services link within the subtab.

The previous screenshot shows the All Services page. This page is the starting point for all Service target related activities within OEM Grid Control. This page shows the list of all the service targets that have been modeled. This includes Generic Service, Aggregate Service, and the Web Application target types. Apart from these, the page also lists targets created using out of the box custom service types.
