Summary
In this chapter we have learned about DDL statements: creating, modifying, and dropping database objects such as tables, indexes, views, synonyms, and sequences. We also learned the importance of statistics gathering and saw a few techniques to collect statistics.
The next chapter is all about PL/SQL coding. It will introduce you to the basics of PL/SQL programming. You will learn about the stored procedure, functions, and packages. You will also be able to write triggers on the tables by the end of the chapter. Exception handling is one of the most important components of PL/SQL programming and will be covered in the next chapter.
