There are many methods available for migrating data to SharePoint Online and Office 365, including both self-service and assisted options. Depending on an organization's budget and technical capability, the amount of data, source environments, and the timeline, they may decide to use one or more of these methods.
Self-service
With self-service tools, organizations can complete migrations to Office 365 and SharePoint Online themselves. The Microsoft services listed here are mostly free of charge (the exception being the freight, shipping, and hardware fees for Azure Data Box).
