Azure Resource Management

It is important to ensure that any data or workloads running in a cloud computing environment are managed in a governed, controlled, secured, and protected manner as they would be for a traditional computing model. Figure 3.14 illustrates these aspects:

Azure resource management solutions should include the following:

  • Availability: This is managed through redundancy, replication, and traffic management.
  • Protection: This is managed through backup and disaster recovery.
  • Security: This is managed through threat protection and security posture management.
  • Configuration: This is managed through automation, scripting, and update management.
  • Governance: This is managed through access control, compliance, and cost management.
