Working with Buttons
The Button object is the first interactive object of Captivate you will focus on. Remember that an interactive object has the ability to stop the playhead and wait for the student to do something.
In the case of a Button, a simple click triggers an action. Despite its apparent simplicity, the Button object is an essential part of every Captivate project as it lets the student control the timing of the online course.
In this exercise, you will add a Button below the video file you inserted in Chapter 5, Working with the Timeline and Other Useful Tools, by performing the following steps:
Open the
Chapter06/encoderDemo_800.cptx
file.Use the Filmstrip panel to go to slide 2.
Go to the Interactions | Button icon of the Big Buttons Bar to insert a new Button on the slide. Alternatively, you can also use the Shift + Ctrl + B (Windows) or the Shift + cmd + B (Mac) keyboard shortcut.
With the new Button selected, open the Properties panel.
