In this chapter, we learned where you can go within the Mailchimp application to connect your e-commerce platform in the event that you already sell products online through another application. Walking through an example integration connection, we then got to the really important part, which is why you would want to connect Mailchimp to your e-commerce platform to begin with. We went through how the data about your contacts, their purchases, and their products moves from one place to the next, and from there, we went over some of the uses of that data inside your Mailchimp account.
The greatest benefit of an all-in-one marketing platform such as Mailchimp, and the reason you should integrate it with your other platforms and applications whenever possible, is that the more data you have about your contacts at your disposal, the more well tailored and harmonized your marketing will be for the people you want to engage with.
