In this chapter, we discussed how multi-WAN configurations can be used to improve your bandwidth and increase the reliability of your internet connection. We covered some of the basics of choosing ISPs to improve the likelihood that multiple connections leads to increased uptime. Then, we explained in detail the various steps required to configure a multi-WAN connection in pfSense. Finally, we enumerated some of the things than can go wrong with a gateway group, and how to troubleshoot such issues.
Setting up multiple WAN interfaces requires configuring some static routes. In the next chapter, Chapter 10, Routing and Bridging, we will cover routing in greater detail.
