Summary

In this chapter, we looked at different ways to structure our code to make it perform better. The function is the primary element in Julia code; however, sometimes it is not the best option. Macros and generated functions can play an important role where appropriate.

In the next chapter, we will look deeper into the problem of numbers. We will see how Julia designs its core number types, and how to make basic numeric operations fly.
