Anatomy of an IoT Architecture

As we start to think about the architecture and set of solutions, it is essential to have some idea of where we are headed. In Chapter 1, Welcome to the IoT Revolution, we reviewed the concept of making sure that business and production teams are aligned with their goals. However, in this chapter, we will focus more on the IT and IoT side of things and how we accomplish those goals from an architecture perspective – how data should be collected, how it flows and is managed through the system, as well as where data starts to be processed, and what stages of processing need to be considered. And then, finally, we’ll learn how to make that data and the resulting analysis and information available to the business for decision-making.
