Implementing Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)
A disaster can be explained as any disruption to the standard or regular business of any components in the platform. To reduce loss, a mission-critical production environment must be protected against such disruptions. Mission-critical production environments need BC, and therefore they need to be recoverable from any failures. DR ensures that systems are fault-tolerant and can recover from any failures. In this section, we will understand the concepts of Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). The IBM ITBC127 standard defines a disaster as a sudden, unplanned calamitous event causing significant damage or loss. Some other characteristics of disasters are presented here:
