Using the Import dialog

In this recipe, we are going to duplicate the wooden table that we used in the previous recipe and download an Old Wood Floor texture. Using the Import dialog, we are going to extract the old_wood_floor.tres file from the old_wood_floor_1K.gltf file we downloaded. Then, we will use that texture for the texture of the wooden table.

Getting ready

For this recipe, click the + button to the right of the glTF scene we just completed to add a new scene. In the Scene tab, click 3D Scene. Click on Scene in the top-left corner next to Project, then select Save Scene As, and name it Import.

How to do it…

First, we will download the Old Wood Floor texture from Poly Haven and then extract the .tres file:

  1. Go to https://polyhaven.com/a/old_wood_floor and, to the right of 1K, click on the down arrow to open the drop-down list:

  1. Select glTF, then click Download.
  2. Extract...
