What to include in the storyboard?
The simple rule is to include everything you need to communicate your story effectively. It does not need to be fancy or take weeks to create. The number of reviewers you need for the storyboard is a smaller group compared to the reviewers for your finished e-learning video. The storyboard reviewers will want to monitor the concept as it takes shape. The storyboard is an excellent way to help them understand your content, both the visual portion and the audio.
Use the conventions, format, and a level of detail with which you are comfortable. I recommend including the following three types of information:
- Your narrative script
- Visual directions or cues
- Images, screenshots, or descriptions of what is visible on screen
