Integrating Microsoft Active Directory into OBIEE


Microsoft Active Directory is a common LDAP directory within the industry. OBIEE integrates out of the box with Microsoft Active Directory, enabling it to be used for user authentication.

Getting ready

Before integrating any LDAP server into OBIEE, it is important to have an understanding of the information contained within LDAP. It is recommended that you get a tool which will allow you to interrogate the LDAP structure and view information. Without this, it could be difficult to troubleshoot and obtain the correct information. ADExplorer from Microsoft is available from their website.

How to do it...

To integrate Microsoft Active Directory with OBIEE you need to provide all the connection details and where in Microsoft Active Directory the information is located. OBIEE has a predefined security provider which will request all the necessary information:
