Summary
Inventory management is a robust module in which we control not only stock levels and how we store our inventory but also how we can process and validate information on the related supply chain processes, such as procurement and sales.
In this chapter, we’ve shown how to create and segment an inventory warehouse, defining its aisles and locations. We discussed how to work with inbound orders with the arrival overview option and inventory journals. In addition, we’ve seen the outbound orders flow and how to process transfer orders.
We also learned about inventory categorization with ABC classification and all the internal operations of a warehouse, such as cycle counts. Finally, we walked to the inventory closing process and updated the costs in our inventory using the costing method.
In the next chapter, we’ll dive into the world of the procurement and sourcing module and learn how a company can request and purchase items and services.
