Configuring vShield Manager settings
Once the vShield Manager virtual appliance has been provisioned and powered on, it is ready for initial configuration. The initial setup of networking information is done at the command line. Once this is complete, all subsequent configuration is completed through the Web console.
Getting ready
In order to proceed, we require access to the vShield web console. The client can be run on any modern Windows or Mac desktop operating system or server operating system.
Note
The vShield web console requires Adobe Flash, which is not supported on Linux operating systems at this time.
How to do it…
To verify that the OVA is correctly provisioned, we'll power it on and check the settings by performing the following steps:
Open the vSphere web client and log in with administrative privileges.
Navigate to vCenter | Virtual Machines | vShield Manager.
Right-click on vShield Manager and select Power On.
