Other valuable exterior tools
Commercial designers and architects often show only the exterior of a building, using existing site images to show and incorporate changes to the façade, create a sun study, and determine possible site locations based on topography. Although we do not have enough space in this book to show how SketchUp makes this easier for you, we want to mention the tools within the software so that you can search for and learn more about them:
- Geo-location: Geo-locate your model to, or begin modeling from, a precise location anywhere on Earth. You can add satellite images from the imported site map and import pre-existing terrain into SketchUp. SketchUp harnesses the capabilities of Trimble Maps, showcasing pristine imagery and the most current map data.
