Failure does not necessarily define a bad leader. But bad leaders certainly are producers of failure. Take a look at some of these statistics:31

- • 65% of employees say they would take a new boss over a pay raise
- • The amount of time it takes for an employee to shake off the stress and anxiety a bad boss causes is 22 months
- • Workers that have poor relationships with bosses are 30% more likely to suffer coronary heart disease
These statistics were collected from extensive research conducted across thousands of employers. They basically suggest that most bosses are not very good, and bad ones can lead to significant personal, psychological, and even physical health issues. These are scary and expensive statistics.
