Reusing PowerPoint material – method 1

Most presenters that we've worked with have used PowerPoint prior to becoming Prezi fans. If you have used PowerPoint previously, it is likely that you have a few great PowerPoint presentations that contain slides that you would like to transfer or import to the Prezi canvas, while preserving their appearance.

In this section, we will show you how to perform such an import. We do this by saving our PowerPoint material in PDF format. The PDF document is then easily inserted into the Prezi canvas using the Insert menu.

Getting ready

  1. Open PowerPoint and then the PowerPoint file that you want in your prezi.
  2. In PowerPoint, navigate to Choose File | Save as.
  3. Choose PDF as your file format.
  4. Name and save the PDF file.

How to do it…

Now, let's do the transfer to Prezi:

  1. In the Prezi, click on Insert.
  2. Choose From file (PDF, video)…, as shown in the following screenshot:
