Animating the 3D models

Lumion's animation tools can transport our walk-through to the next level because after we create a walk-through, we have an opportunity to animate individual 3D models. It is true that we can import animations in Lumion, but these imported animations are tricky to control and need to be carefully planned. On the other hand, Lumion has tools that we need to animate the native 3D models and add life to our world. Let's see how we can do that.

Getting ready

To apply this recipe, it is essential that we have at least one clip that is animated, and this animation needs to encompass the 3D models we want to animate. All of the animation process is done in the Movie mode, so we need to place the 3D models before using the Movie mode.

How to do it…

With the Movie mode open, perform the following steps:

  1. First, create a clip if necessary or select the clip you want to animate.
  2. Click on the New effect button, and from the Movie effect library, open the Objects tab...
