Technical requirements

To follow the examples in this section, we'll use our existing Ubuntu host or virtual machine (VM). We'll be touching on some wireless topics in this chapter, so if you don't have a wireless card in your host or VM, you'll want a Wi-Fi adapter to work through those examples.

As we work through the various examples, we'll be editing several configuration files. If not specifically referenced, the configuration files for freeradius are all held within the /etc/freeradius/3.0/ directory.

For the packages we're installing that aren't included by default in Ubuntu, be sure that you have a working internet connection so that you can use the apt commands for installation.
