In this chapter, we went through SAP TMS master data; that is, organization structure, products, business partners, transportation networks, and resource master. The concept of master data transfer between SAP ECC and SAP TMS is the same as what we covered in Chapter 3, Master Data in SAP APO. This chapter provided you with a good understanding of the TMS master data that helps in successfully executing transportation planning. This chapter also helped you understand how to set up master data – primarily the transportation network and the resource master, which are important elements to understand.

Any issues with this data impacts the transportation planning and shipment processing phases. This chapter helped teach you how to minimize and reduce risks related to master data and made sure you understood the details around how they're set up.
