To put this into perspective, McKinsey research finds that the median age of the top 10 S&P companies in 2000 was 85 years and dropped to 33 years in 2018 [1]. What’s even more interesting is the fact that the study estimates that the average tenure of an S&P 500 company would be a mere 12 years by 2027.
