Maintenance tasks

Maintenance tasks are tasks performed automatically by the server. Some of them are configured and enabled during server installation, while others are disabled by default and might be enabled after the server is installed.

The most important task, which must always be configured, is the backup. There are a few ways to configure backup, but the one recommended, is leveraging the built-in mechanism to create a backup copy.

In general, there are always three steps that need to be done for each project:

  1. Installing the ConfigMgr server and configuring it according to the project needs.
  2. Immediately after the basic configuration is done, configuring the backup, along with the schedule of performing a backup copy.
  3. Starting the backup job and checking if the backup copy can be used to restore the server after a failure.
