Modeling iron sights and detailing the barrel
Next, we are going to add more details to the barrel, and we will create an iron sight. In this section, it is not very important to follow the steps too closely because many of the details are improvised and not necessarily realistic:
- Connect the two barrels with a smooth shape. Do this by filling some of the edges with F and making them smoother with some loop cuts, bevels, or LoopTools.
- Push the shape forward to create a small gap between the receiver and the barrels. In that gap, we extrude two circles to connect the shapes.
- Add some shapes to create the iron sight mount. This is the part that holds the iron sight in place, and it looks different on the many variations of the FN SCAR, so feel free to get creative here as well.
