When looking at the requirements of this exam, you will quickly realize that the knowledge domains are not only geared toward the networking features of AWS, but represent a larger scope with management, automation, application services, and security composing a large section of the exam. For this reason, AWS recommends five years of experience with these technologies before attempting to take the exam. In five years, a typical network engineer will probably get hands-on experience with a broad range of technologies, or at least be highly proficient in most of them.
Due to the fact that your experience with AWS might not have covered each and every topic covered in the exam, you can use this book as a guide to discover the areas you need to do some work on and determine the knowledge confidence level of the areas that you are familiar with.
