What happens after you have connected your domain?

Once you’ve connected your domain name, it’s a bit of a waiting game. If your domain has connected correctly, you should be seeing your website on your domain rather quickly, especially if you’ve selected a Squarespace domain, but all DNS providers and Squarespace will warn you that things can take up to 24–48 hours to fully connect. Even if the connection appears to work quickly, it can take time for all of the servers and devices in the world to acknowledge the existence of your beautiful new website, so give it a day or so before you worry whether individual people can’t yet see the new site.
