In this chapter, you learned how to create flyovers and walkthroughs. You found out how to set up the camera to follow a path and tweak individual views along the path. You then discovered how to put clips together into an overall presentation. Some skills you picked up in this chapter were:

  • Planning your animations the easy way

  • Plugins you need to achieve smooth animations

  • How to render photoreal frames for an animation

  • How to best prepare videos for viewing on the Internet

All that knowledge will set you on the path to happily produce SketchUp animations for architectural visualizations. As you have seen, it's not hard to generate great results with SketchUp and a few other video-editing and conversion programs. Of course, if you find yourself creating animations regularly, you can take these skills and apply them to video compositing applications that are industry standard, such as After Effects or Nuke, or try an open source alternative such as Blender 3D.
