Chapter 12: Essential Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®)
The Scaled Agile Framework™ (SAFe®) is a Lean-Agile approach to developing large-scale products and solutions that integrate computing and physical products or components (also known as cyber-physical systems). The business drivers for implementing SAFe are the need to compete in our digital age with compelling, value-added solutions, minimal waste, and optimized value stream efficiencies.
Consistent with the philosophies of Lean development, SAFe implements Lean practices on an enterprise scale spanning both value creation and value delivery activities—that is, the set of development and operational processes and activities. Collectively, these value streams provide an end-to-end view of how the organization creates customer-centric value.
