Version migration with Oracle JET


Oracle JET has released version 4.0.0 with the DOM syntax for defining all JET UI components in an HTML page, including the @oracle/ojet-cli Oracle JET command-line interface. This means that the usage of Yeoman and Grunt builds are optional now.

However, upgrading an existing JET application to v4.0.0 does not require you to move to the new custom element syntax.

If you are using an older version of Oracle JET already (v2.1.0, v2.2.0, v2.3.0, or v3.2.0), it is very easy to migrate to the latest version (v4.0.0). While Bower and Git tooling dependencies are discounted in the v3.x.x upgrade, Yeoman and Grunt builds were made optional with the ojet-cli being introduced in v.4.0.0. Please follow the following step-by-step procedure to safely migrate your application to the latest version (v4.0.0):

  1. Clean the npm cache using the following command:
      npm cache clean
  1. Upgrade the generator-Oracle JET to use the latest version tooling using the following command:
