Bulk Data Options

Azure has numerous ways to access the storage services. This access can be by using the public endpoints over the Internet or ExpressRoute via Microsoft peering. Additionally exposing services to virtual networks enables access to storage from the resources on the virtual network or connected to the virtual network. There may also be times when the amount of data to be imported (or exported) is not practical through any online mechanism due to the volume of data. While very large throughput solutions are available, such as 10 Gbps for regular ExpressRoute or 100 Gbps for ExpressRoute Direct, if a data transfer is a one-time requirement or very infrequent, the establishment of higher throughput communications may not make sense.
