In this chapter, we were introduced to the world of telephony. We looked at a basic telephony device, the SIM800-based GSM module. Then we learned how to write an Arduino sketch to send an SMS and dial a phone number from the Arduino.
In the last part of the chapter, we put together the idea of building an early warning system for wild forest fires. In this inspirational section, we realized that we can reuse our knowledge from the previous chapters and successfully build new projects. This is also what this book aimed to do, to empower you and make you conversant with creating new projects on the Arduino platform.
