Implementing Workforce and Customer Authentication Using Okta
In the previous chapter, we focused on using Azure AD and Duo Multi-Factor Authentication to safeguard the Acme workforce, including employees, contractors, and temporary users.
In this chapter, we will shift attention to Okta, a central cloud-based identity management vendor that offers two distinct identity and access management (IAM) products. The first product protects workforce users, equivalent to the configuration of Azure AD presented in Chapter 3. Okta’s second product provides authentication for external customers. This product is designed to enable secure access to applications and services for customers not belonging to the organization’s workforce (comparable to Azure AD B2C).
