What is AWS Lambda?

AWS Lambda is a compute service through which you can run your functions. It will run your functions without the need for you to provision or manage any compute infrastructure. AWS Lambda can not only execute your functions, but can also easily scale to thousands of executions per second. As the server management is abstracted away from the developer, they can just focus on solving the business problem rather than having to also focus on server management and scaling the solution. The other big benefit in terms of cost is that you only pay the compute cost for the time AWS Lambda is executed, which provides you with higher utilization of resources at a significantly lower price than what you would be typically paying if you were to run the compute infrastructure all the time.
