A smart building solution design
Let's use a Contoso building as our example. Imagine that this building was recently built and is state-of-the-art, containing several sensors for different purposes. The Contoso building is what we call a smart building. It can maintain and control itself by using sensors, analytics, and automation to support the workers that occupy it.
The Contoso building saves energy by turning off lights where workers are not active and changes the cooling system parameters for empty rooms to prevent over-cooling. It also controls the temperature in the building by bringing the window shades down when the outside temperature and the amount of sunlight is increasing. Although windows can be opened, workers rarely need to, as the building keeps the temperature constant.
