Creating and applying paragraph styles
When it comes to creating paragraph styles in InDesign, there are a few different approaches. In this recipe, we will look at creating a paragraph style from some existing content, as well as setting up a new paragraph style from the dialog box. We will also look at a useful trick for setting default styles that will automatically appear in every new document you create going forward.
Getting ready
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1.
How to do it
In order to create paragraph styles, just follow these steps:
- Create a text frame and fill it with placeholder text. Select some text in the first paragraph and format it differently. In my case, I will change the font face to Arial, the font size to 14 pt, the alignment to Left aligned, and the text color to Dark blue.
