In this chapter, you learned about the options that you can use to configure the appearance and features of site collections, as well as to deploy and manage SharePoint Apps. The customizations you can perform will help add value and functionality to the users' SharePoint experience. You also learned that SharePoint Apps can be acquired from the SharePoint Store and other repositories, or developed in-house and uploaded. Apps can be administratively deployed to sites or made available for site owners to install as they need.
In the next chapter, we will begin examining the flexibility that Managed Metadata can bring to SharePoint.
