Data Literacy has no end state
The subject of data literacy is intrinsically linked to the concept of data value.
From my perspective, without sufficient knowledge and the ability to delve deeply into our datasets, technology, business environment, and emerging concepts, we, as collective data and business teams, cannot fully grasp the value and potential of data.
Microsoft’s commitment to data literacy has always been a part of our portfolio, but its focus has undoubtedly evolved. By this, I mean that while we typically view ourselves as a data-centric team, our primary effort in data literacy extends outward to educating all business stakeholders and the community of data stewards. However, it also encompasses educating ourselves and our peer teams, composed of various personas, about the complex and intricate world of data.
