Getting to know the networking component
In a similar vein to compute, networking is supported by the servers, and the vSwitch gateway sits above them on the data plane. The Network Resource Provider sits above this, supporting the network controller and the software load balancer. Above this is the vNICs, Gateways, vNets, and more, all of which all administered using the Azure Resource Manager, as shown in the following diagram:

From a physical network switching topology point of view, there are two connectivity types supported within Microsoft Azure Stack Hub. Data switching network connectivity is used for the Windows Server 2019 converged NIC, software-defined networking, and storage. BMC switching network connectivity is used for physical host control and any third-party hardware monitoring that's required by the OEM vendor.
