Immersive technologies
Immersive technologies, including augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and the metaverse, provide an immersive and engaging mechanism for consuming IoT data and insights. Here, it is represented using the following image:

Traditionally, content or data is consumed using desktop or mobile screens, but these immersive technologies offer an enriching experience to the user, as described here:
- AR: As mentioned in Chapter 10, AR helps overlay IoT content (analytics results, sensor operational or metadata, and so on) with the user’s current view – that is, AR allows you to augment the real-time view of the user with context-sensitive IoT data and information.
